Misuse of Social Media 2026 PSHE / online safety lesson resource. This social media lesson looks at the possible ways social media can be misused including, using it as soon as we wake, doomscrolling, addiction, creating a negative or worrying digital footprint and the increasing use of AI to create deepfakes and disinformation. The resource also considers how pupils can keep themselves safe and well.
This resource is also available in a tutor time format, it is designed as part of our 2026 RSHE curriculum but works as an independent lesson. This is an easy to follow power point lesson (no prior planning, printing or preparation required). The resource is designed to be delivered as one 60 minute lessons (depending on tasks chosen) but all of our resources are fully editable and designed to allow sections to be added or removed should you need to do so.
No previous knowledge in the subject area is needed, as the lesson is easily deliverable by someone who is not a subject specialist or experienced PSHE teachers. Lesson meets current UK PSHE guidance.
