Consumerism, money PSHE / Citizenship lesson ideal for a unit on financial decision making or as a stand alone resource. The lesson considers the difference between wants and needs, how advertises use marketing techniques to make products appear as needs and to generate consumerism. The lesson gives a clear definition of consumerism and considers some of the issues relating to it including fair trade and the impact on the environment. The lesson finishes by getting pupils to consider how they can be more mindful in relation to consumerism.
This is an easy to follow power point lesson (no printing or preparation required). The resource is designed to be delivered as a 60 minute lesson but our resources are fully editable designed to allow sections to be added or removed should you need to do so. No previous knowledge in the subject area needed, as the lesson is easily deliverable by someone who is not a subject specialist and meets PSHE guidance.
